Videos: Marcus Foster Performs for Crypt Sessions

Wow... these totally slipped me by so I'm sharing them with you guys! :)

"Nameless Path"

"I Was Broken"

"Faint Stir of Madness"

From The Crypt Sessions:
Marcus Foster is a very talented young man indeed. Still only 24, he's just earned himself a master's degree in sculpture from the Royal College of Art and has already exhibited at the Saatchi Gallery with a hot air balloon fashioned from cold steel. Next weekend he's DJ-ing on the main stage at the Wilderness Festival. And with his nu-folk singer-songwriter's hat on, he's about to release his first album, Nameless Path, on Communion Records. How he had time to come and play for us at The Crypt Sessions is anyone's guess, but we're extremely glad he did.

Marcus's big musical break came when Let Me Sign, a song he co-wrote with buddy Bobby Long, was recorded by schoolmate Rob Pattinson for the soundtrack of the first Twilight film. But when you hear him play, it's pretty obvious that Marcus would have risen to the surface anyway. A keen student of Tom Waits and Bob Dylan, he is blessed with an exceptionally soulful voice, a poet's handle on the human condition and a range of musical expression to match - from the galloping Stones bluesiness driving album track Shadow Of The City, to the dusty, spaghetti western sprawl of Circle In The Square. He also has friends in all the right places. But as The Independent said, 'Remarkably talented and excitingly different, Foster shows he's worth the celebrity endorsements. And proves he doesn't need them either.'

The Tiger Review Interviews Lee MacDougall!

British Singer Lee MacDougall finds passion in singing and songwriting

Dreaming to be something more than a worker at a local fish processing factory, Lee MacDougall, a singer and songwriter from England, took the bold step and put himself and his music out for the world to enjoy.
Tahlequah High was able to interview the singer via phone call while he was on his way to Tuscaloosa, Alabama for the Tuscaloosa tornado relief show.
MacDougall says that his inspiration for his music is life itself, being alive, traveling and meeting new people.
“I am inspired by the human psychology, I find everything interesting,” said MacDougall.
But he had to start somewhere; MacDougall says that he performed his first show in his hometown of Grimsby at the age of 15 in a youth club.
“I was really nervous before the show, and I was thinking that if it went really well I was going to be a singer. And if it doesn’t then I will totally go and work in a fish factory. I think 4 people clapped, it felt so good and I wanted more of that.”
Currently MacDougall is touring the United States. He says his favorite part of touring in the US is the differences and variations among the towns that he travels to.

Dallas Observer Talks with Lee MacDougall

Here's a recent article from the Dallas Observer. I'm bad & totally missed this one-- check it out!

Singer-songwriter Lee MacDougall hails from England, but the guy just can't seem to get enough of America. Earlier this year, MacDougall made his maiden tour of our fair country. Just a few months later, he's back for more. And, seeing that MacDougall's music is heavily influenced by Bruce Springsteen and Tom Petty, America seems a pretty good place to ply his craft.

Speaking from a tour stop in Atlanta and in anticipation of his upcoming, Saturday night performance at Poor David's Pub, MacDougall was kind enough to talk to DC9 about making his way from a lowly fish processing plant in England to sharing stages with Bob Dylan and Van Morrison.

Video: Luke Hilleard (@Luke_Hilleard) covers Rob Pattinson's "Never Think" - via @RPattzMusic!

Here's a nice cover of Rob's "Never Think" which was featured on the Twilight soundtrack. I always enjoy hearing different takes on person's version of a song.

Great job, Luke! Thanks for sharing!
